Romano Prodi, former Italian Prime Minister and former President of the European Commission participated in a conference on the new Silk Roads on June 28, 2018 in Milan.
Mr. Prodi was very enthusiastic about the BRI, which he described as the most important project that China has offered to the world.
He encouraged Italian companies to join this Chinese programme to benefit from the exchanges created by the BRI.
Romano Prodi also advised the new Italian government to follow China’s model of implementing long-term projects. European states must define projects, particularly in the field of infrastructure, for the coming decades.
It is now time for EU members to define their strategy regarding the new Silk Roads.
