From March 12 to 15, 2019, the MPIM (International Market of Real Estate Professionals) took place in Cannes, France. It is the world largest fair bringing together developers, city officials and other real estate professionals. Cities of tomorrow and innovations for sustainable urbanization are unveiled at this event.

This year, former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon gave an inaugural speech calling on real estate professionals to promote greener cities. During this event, several roundtables were organized, bringing together experts from all countries. One of them was about the Belt and Road initiative.

This session entitled “Belt and Road Initiative and Real Estate in Asia” held on March 13 was an opportunity for European and Asian experts to exchange and analyze the development of the Chinese initiative and its impact on the real estate and construction sector.

This session was moderated by Sébastien Goulard, consultant at Cooperans and coordinator of OBOReurope.
Mr. Alexandre Missoffe, Director, Greater Paris Investment Agency, has presented the assets of Paris in the new Silk roads.
Mr. Hugues Parant, CEO of Euroméditerranée, Marseille, stressed the importance of integration into regional networks for European cities.
Mr. Terence Tang, Managing Director, Capital Markets & Investment Services Asia, Colliers International, Singapore, talked about the current trends in the real estate sector in Asia
Finally, Ms. Casey Wang, Director of BLEND Architecture, Adjunct Assistant Professor at School of Architecture The Chinese University of Hong Kong presented the impact of the current economic transformations in the Pearl River area on local architectural projects.

Paris and Marseille, France two largest French cities are ready to embark the BRI and enhance their attractiveness to Chinese investors.
